Where we've been and where we're going

2010 has been a wonderful year for us. We've travelled, we've seen some incredible things, met nice people, ate good food, drank good wine and great beer, listened to lots of music, and laughed a lot.

No, we haven't gone to Europe, Mexico, or the Dominican Republic. That's not us. But we have star-gazed from a *private* hot-tub with all the lights and jets turned off under a clear fall sky in Central Alberta ... and we have had tricks played on us by a fun-loving spirit named Rue in a beautiful old lighthouse keeper's home on the rugged Oregon Coast on rainy nights. Can you get that at an all-inclusive Jamaican resort?

This year has taken us to Beaver Mines / Crowsnest Pass a few times. We've been to Jasper, Washington State, Oregon, Kananaskis Country in the spring and the fall, Sundre, AB in the fall, and Vancouver Island in the late fall. It's all been wonderful -- click for a stroll through our memories.

2011 isn't going to be much different. We've decided that we're going to revisit many of our favourites from the past couple of years, but seeing things differently. For instance, we plan to go back to the Oregon Coast, but this time it will be in April when the whales will be making their northern migration, and we will be heading out into the Pacific in a Zodiac. Remember -- I'm afraid of water and boats ... unless there are whales involved. We'll be spending more time in Portland ... and visiting some of the restaurants featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. We'll be visiting a new favourite -- My Own River Ranch -- but in winter when the river is frozen and the trees are covered in snow.

I hope that you'll continue to join us in our travels into 2011. We're having fun!
